After spending an exciting day at Sapgyo Lake Amusement Park, there’s nothing like enjoying a satisfying and refreshing meal with your family. On our latest trip, we visited Ilmi Kalguksu, a local favorite near Sapgyo Lake in Dangjin, known for its generous portions and family-friendly atmosphere. I was pleasantly surprised at how this place managed to exceed our expectations—no wonder it’s considered one of the best restaurants in the area!

As soon as we entered, the owner kindly let us know, “Today, only clam kalguksu is available!” We ordered three servings, and what arrived was a huge bowl filled to the brim—a sight you have to see to believe! The clear, savory broth was loaded with clams, carrots, scallions, and sweet pumpkin, which added a natural sweetness that our kids loved. The noodles were perfectly chewy and springy, making every spoonful a joy.

I appreciated the clean, gender-separated restrooms inside the restaurant, and the parking lot right out front made visiting stress-free.

Looking at the menu, Ilmi Kalguksu offers more than just clam noodle soup—they also have seafood kalguksu, spicy skate salad, and monkfish stew. While we stuck to the clam kalguksu, I noticed other tables enjoying a variety of dishes. Prices are reasonable, and the portions are large enough to satisfy any family.
