As summer approaches, the idea of playing in the water becomes irresistible. Planning a family trip, we decided to visit Hamdeok Beach, well-known for its clear, shallow water. The moment we arrived, the wide white sand and blue sea instantly lifted our spirits. You could feel the excitement in the air, the perfect start to a Jeju trip.
Is Parking at Hamdeok Beach Convenient?
Parking is one of the first things families worry about. Fortunately, Hamdeok Beach has a spacious public parking lot just across from the beach, making parking simple and stress-free. It’s only about a 3-minute walk from the parking lot to the beach, so it’s very convenient even with children in tow. Even on busy weekends, there are enough spots and quick turnover, so parking is rarely an issue.
Why Is Hamdeok Beach Perfect for Families with Kids?
The number one reason I recommend Hamdeok Beach to families is the shallow water. When we ventured into the sea, the water only came up to an adult’s knees even quite far out. This allowed our kids to safely splash and play in the ocean, giving us peace of mind.
The sand is soft and the water is crystal clear, so children can enjoy both sand and water play safely.

Before the official beach opening, the shower rooms are closed, but there are plenty of foot-washing stations along the beach.
Once the shower facilities open, they use natural groundwater, which keeps the water nice and cool.
We simply washed the kids’ feet and changed their clothes before heading home—a hassle-free end to our beach adventure.
