When weekends come around, our family always ends up asking, “Where should we go this time?” That’s how we ended up discovering Tangeum Lake Picnic Park in Chungju — a place where we could eat, relax, and enjoy the outdoors, all for a surprisingly low price.

A Well-Designed Picnic Site with Full Amenities
As soon as we entered the park, we were impressed by the atmosphere. Each picnic zone comes with a curved stone bench, built-in barbecue grill, electric outlets, and a sturdy stone table.
Above, yellow canopies and string lights gave the area a cozy, romantic vibe — ideal for day and evening use.
The park is divided into two zones:
- A Site: Pet-friendly zone
- B Site: General zone for all visitors
BBQ Menu: Pork Belly, Grilled Cheese, Ramen & More!
For our picnic meal, we brought along pork belly, fresh lettuce wraps, sliced garlic and ssamjang, kimchi stew, grilled cheese, and ramen to finish!
We cooked using a portable gas stove. It was incredibly convenient, and the kids loved seeing the food sizzle in front of them.
One big hit? Grilled cheese — crispy on the outside, gooey inside.
Kids Running Free in Nature
While we were grilling, the kids ran around the field chasing dandelions. The open green space surrounded by trees was not only safe but also gave them a rare chance to explore nature.
Easy Clean-up with Washing Stations
After our meal, we cleaned up at the park’s washing station and recycling center. Everything was well-maintained — from stainless steel sinks to garbage sorting bins.
